Course Previews: What's on This June

Get ready for another term packed with vintage style, feel-good music, and plenty of Charleston fun as our new courses begin on 1 June.

This summer features routines for all, including Open Level Charleston to “Five Foot Two”, and the theatrical “Mein Herr” in our Musicals Course.  Our Intermediate group  have the chance to dance A Chorus Line-inspired routine, while our new Partner course  brings classic swing energy with the timeless “Flying Home''


OPEN LEVEL CHARLESTON COURSE - FIVE FOOT TWO

We’re so excited to reveal that our next summer routine will be Five Foot Two — a timeless Charleston classic and one of our absolute favourites to perform! Here’s a little throwback to our performance at Dance Active at the Brighton Centre.

MUSICALS COURSE - MEIN HERR, CABARET

HOVE ‍ ‍ ONLINE

Our musicals course starts in June in Hove and online and we'll be teaching a routine inspired by Mein Herr from Cabaret. Famously performed by Liza Minnelli, this razzle dazzle number is a great one to learn and a favourite amongst many of our dance students.

PARTNER CHARLESTON - FlYLING HOME

4 June-9 July, 6-7pm - Open Space Studios

Fiona and Morgan have been busy in the studio creating an exciting brand-new Partner Charleston routine — starting 4th June at Open Space Studios in Hove. Join us for this fun and energetic 6-week course designed for all levels, where you’ll learn the foundations of 1920s Partner Charleston, including simple turns, call-and-response moves, classic partnered technique, and a fantastic routine to bring it all together.

INTERMEDIATE CHARLESTON - 12th STREET RAG

4 June-9 July, 7-8pm - Open Space Studios

We’ve taken a trip down memory lane and revived a favourite routine from the archives — originally performed as a chorus line piece. We’ve refreshed the choreography, added some exciting new touches, and it’s now ready to teach in our next 6-week course.

Expect sharp lines, synchronised shapes, intricate patterning, and all the elegance of the golden age of performance. Think Busby Berkeley-inspired precision, glamour, and finesse.
