Complete your MyCharleston Training and start teaching with us!

We’ve been training teachers the Charleston since 2018 and we are currently recruiting for a new teacher to join our in-house team in Portsmouth. If you are based in another location and interested in our training programme, we would still love to hear from you.

TRAIN WITH US

  • Learn how to teach beginners Charleston with confidence and deliver 6-week courses

  • Develop or refresh general teaching skills including teaching methods, class management and health and safety.

  • Discover the MyCharleston syllabus: authentic 1920s moves, style, technique and terminology

  • Get full training through online tuition, home study and assessments through video tutorials, teaching manuals and live sessions with us.

OUR ETHOS

  • We believe dance is a joyful experience which can be shared by all and going for individuals who want to promote dance by making it accessible, inclusive and fun for adults of all ages and abilities. 

  • We want you to empower your students to feel they have learnt new skills and made new friends in their local community. 

OUR TEAM

  • If you are passionate about teaching, then we want to hear from you.

  • Our current teachers come from a range of professional backgrounds, from professional dancers to fitness instructors to NHS workers - what they have in common is a proven experience and a passion for in dance and teaching!

  • You do not need to know the Charleston already, however passion for Jazz and/or vintage dance is a quality we are looking for in potential candidates.

We are currently recruiting for a new member to join our in-house team in Portsmouth. As a team member you will go through our training programme then be employed by MyCharleston to teach weekly lessons. Please email us to find out more.
